Five events that defined the week that was.

With the start of a new week, here are the five events that defined
the week that was. First, the Cord rally on Monday proved to be
something of an anti climax. The Cord leaders certainly did not live
up to the hype. Secondly, Brazil were humiliated twice, first a 7-1
thrashing by Germany, and then a 3-0 drabbing by Netherlands. Third,
Amb. Amina Mohamed was in the US to woo investors, and make the case
that even though there have been insecurity incidences, the country is
still a safe haven for investors. The Kenyan sovereign bond was
oversubscribed to the tune of 700 billion shillings against a target
of 175 billion shillings showing that investors are upbeat about the
Kenyan economy. Fourth, President Uhuru Kenyatta made a visit to
Kakamega in Western Kenya, and assured the area residents that the
region was firmly in the government's radar. Finally, a new revelation
emerged that China had supplied arms to South Sudan to the tune of
nearly 40 million dollars, helping fuel chaos in that country.
