The Week Ahead- What to expect.

This week will likely be shaped by these defining events. First, in
Ukambani politics, there is likely to be sustained onslought on
Machakos governor Alfred Mutua, who is not only facing opposition from
his long time adversary Johnstone Muthama, but also by his Deputy
Governor, and of late the Wiper Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka. In the
same rope will be Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagwa, whom we feel has
not had the same level of publicity for his successes as Governor
Mutua. Meanwhile, Cord is preparing to launch a campaign to register a
million signatures for the much hyped referendum, which the party
claims will make Jubilee accountable. Still, internationally, the
leaders of the BRICS countries- Brazil, Russia, India, China and South
Africa, are meeting in Brazil to try and create their own development
bank, as they feel marginalised by both the World Bank and IMF.
